Tragedy in Lagos: Stray Bullet Claims Life Of 12-Year-Old Boy In Mushin Cult Clash.

A heartbreaking incident has shaken the Mushin community in Lagos State, where a 12-year-old boy, identified as Wasiu, was fatally struck by a stray bullet during a violent cult clash. The tragedy occurred around 8 pm on Wednesday in the Olosha area, as rival cult groups engaged in a fierce confrontation, according to reports from Punch Newspapers and NigerianEye.

Wasiu was reportedly at a local food vendor, known as Iya Ibeji, when gunfire erupted, sending residents and shop owners scrambling for safety. A local resident, Tale Amoo, recounted the chaos, stating that the sound of gunshots triggered widespread panic. “People were running into their homes, and businesses shut their doors,” he said. Tragically, Wasiu, caught in the crossfire while attempting to flee, was struck by a stray bullet.

Efforts to save the young boy proved futile. Residents who found him lying motionless rushed him to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), but the facility’s gates were closed due to the volatile situation, preventing timely medical attention. “No one realised he’d been hit at first,” another resident, who wished to remain anonymous, explained. “The presence of cultists on the route to the hospital’s other gate stopped us from getting through Pragmatic Play him there.”

The Vice Chairman of Mushin Local Government, Tubosun Aruwe, condemned the incident as “senseless and heartbreaking,” describing it as a devastating blow to the community. He noted that the ongoing cult violence has left residents living in fear, with the clash marking yet another tragic loss in the area.

The Lagos State Police Command has yet to issue an official statement, raising concerns among residents about the lack of immediate action. Community members have expressed outrage, with many calling for increased police presence and decisive measures to curb the escalating cult-related violence in Mushin. Social media posts on X reflect the public’s grief and anger, with one user, @TheEmmalez, lamenting, “I feel for his mother. May we not bury our children.”

The incident has reignited calls for urgent action to address the growing problem of cult clashes in Lagos, as the community mourns the loss of a young life cut short by senseless violence.
