The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the release of the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination results. Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, the Registrar of the Board, disclosed this during a press briefing held in Bwari, Abuja.
Out of the 1,904,189 candidates who participated in the examination, the results of 64,624 have been withheld pending further investigation by the Board.
This decision was made due to concerns regarding verification, procedural issues, and alleged examination misconduct.
A total of 1,989,668 candidates registered for the 2024 UTME, including those from foreign centres. However, 80,810 candidates were marked as absent during the examination period.
Oloyede also revealed that the Board is currently examining candidates from nine foreign centres, including locations such as Abidjan, Addis Ababa, and London. The aim of including these foreign centres is to promote Nigerian institutions globally and ensure the universality of academic traditions.
Further arrangements for conducting the 2024 UTME in these foreign centres are being finalised by the Board.
