Governor Ahmed Ododo of Kogi State has assured residents that efforts are underway to rescue abducted students from Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTEC), Osara, Okene.
Recall that Bandits raided the campus, taking several students captive, prompting a swift response from the state government.
In response to the distressing news, Governor Ododo activated security measures, deploying a sizable force including security agents and local hunters familiar with the area’s terrain.
The government aims to ensure the safe return of the abducted students and bring the perpetrators to justice.
The Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Femi Fanwo, emphasized the government’s commitment to the rescue operation, highlighting the cooperation between security forces and local hunters.
Governor Ododo has also directed heightened security measures around all tertiary institutions in the state to prevent similar incidents in the future.
Despite the challenging circumstances, the government remains resolute in its determination to secure the safe release of the abducted students and reaffirms its stance against acts of terrorism.
