UNILORIN Student Sets New World Record With Longest Mathematics Lesson.

A mathematics student from the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), Kazeem Sanusi, has made history by setting a new Guinness World Record for the Longest Mathematics Lesson.

Kazeem, a 400-level student, delivered an uninterrupted mathematics lecture lasting 31 hours, 42 minutes, and 54 seconds, surpassing the previous record of 26 hours of continuous teaching.

The remarkable feat was achieved in the presence of Guinness World Record representatives, with a captivated audience cheering him on throughout the marathon session. The event was graced by the Vice-Chancellor of UNILORIN, Professor Wahab Egbewole, SAN, who led the university community in celebrating the exceptional accomplishment.

UNILORIN’s spokesperson, Mr Kunle Akogun, confirmed the record-breaking performance in a statement, noting that top university officials, including the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Management Services), Professor Adegboyega Fawole; Registrar, Mr Mansur Alfanla; Dean of the Faculty of Physical Sciences, Professor Abdullahi Alafara Baba; Acting Dean of Student Affairs, Dr Alex Akanmu; and the Student Union President, Comrade Victor Agezeh, were present to witness the historic moment.

Kazeem’s effort drew admiration from the university leadership, with Professor Egbewole describing it as a source of immense pride. “We are immensely proud of Kazeem’s feat and will continue to encourage others to find their passion and pursue it,” he said.

He further expressed confidence that UNILORIN’s supportive academic environment would inspire more students to reach new heights. “Others would be inspired by Kazeem’s feat to also break all ceilings and continue to write the name of the University in gold,” the Vice-Chancellor added.

Kazeem is now eagerly awaiting official confirmation from Guinness World Records. His achievement not only highlights personal determination and academic excellence but also places UNILORIN in the global spotlight for remarkable student innovation and resilience.
