Matches Continue in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), 2023/2024 season.
All set for round 18 fixtures in the on going season of the NPFL as newly promoted side Sporting Lagos will be at home to welcome Shooting Stars Sport Club of Ibadan, while table toppers Remo Stars will be facing Katsina away from Home.
In another encounter, Lobi Stars of Markudi will be at home as they welcome Kano Pillars. And Today’s fixture will be rounded up a with what could be a thrilling encounter between Bayelsa United and Bendel Insurance. All matches kick off by 4pm Nigerian time.
Eyes will be on Remo Stars as they look to extend their stay at the top of the Log. However this fixture doesn’t look favourable as their Head to Head Result and current away form isn’t too promising. But can they defile all odds and get the maximum 3 point to stay at the summit?
On the Other hand, Sporting Lagos seemed to have lost their momentum, after starting well in the early stages of the season, but now, things looked on the contrary as they sit 18th on the Log and without a win in their last five matches. However they seem to be very efficient at home as they are unbeaten while playing in their home arena in Lagos. Could this be a leverage for them later today? Well only time will tell.
Meanwhile, 2nd placed Lobi Stars would be hoping for a better result as they face off with Kano Pillars who sit 6th on the Log. And preferably a win against Pillars will see them go top of the table provided there is a setback for their Rival Remo Stars in their own encounter.
Finally Bayelsa United who currently sits rock bottom on the Table languishing in the 20th position will be hopeful they can kick start their survival race, but against a quite formidable Bendel Insurance, can they produce a performance to earn the maximum 3 point? Bayelsa United are without a win in their last five matches, losing four with one draw in between. They will be facing a more better team in Bendel Insurance today and they may as well take encouragement from the form of the visitors who seemed to be struggling away from home. But with their Continental ambition in mind, a win for Bendel would see them move to 30points and within a point to unsit Doma United who Currently occupy the last continental position on the table.
With the first half of the season almost about rounding up, is the current state of the table justifiable for all teams? or probably you’d say some had been unlucky!
