LASU Demands Swift Justice For Murdered Former Student.
Lagos State University (LASU) has called for swift justice following the alleged murder of its former student, Adedamola Ogunbode, popularly known as Horlar.
In a statement released on Tuesday by the university’s Deputy Registrar and Coordinator, Centre for Information and Public Relations, Oluwayemisi Thomas-Onashile, LASU expressed deep sorrow over the tragic incident.
Ogunbode, a 28-year-old Political Science Education graduate, had been missing since 16 January 2025. His mutilated body was later discovered by security agencies, buried within a church compound in the Ojo area of Lagos. The prime suspect, a prophet, has since been arrested and is assisting the police with their investigation.
The university management extended heartfelt condolences to Ogunbode’s family, friends, and colleagues, describing his death as a significant loss to the LASU community. Condemning the brutal act, the institution urged authorities to ensure that those responsible face the full weight of the law.
LASU also advised students to remain calm while investigations continue, encouraging them to stay vigilant against suspicious activities. The university reaffirmed its commitment to student safety and pledged full cooperation with law enforcement agencies to maintain a secure environment on campus.
