Organisations can now utilise Google Chat more than ever before as the tech giant did some rebranding on Spaces and got a host of useful features with ability to host a meeting directly from the chat box.
Now, GoogleChat spaces can have 50,000 members. Earlier, this number was restricted to 8,000.
“In continuing our efforts to boost communication and collaboration for teams of all sizes in Google Workspace, we’re increasing the number of users you can add to a space in Google Chat from 8,000 to 50,000,” said Google as quoted in post on their blog.
The jump is rather significant in terms of how many members can be in Google Chat spaces. Over the last couple of months, Google has added other features to Google Chat as well. For example, users can now edit a message or give reactions and even create message threads within spaces.
Searching for members becomes easy
Apart from this, Google is also making it easier to search for specific members. Google also said that if a member is present, you can change their role and if a member is not present, you can add the member to the space.
The large spaces feature has been rolled out with immediate effect, however it may take up to 15 days for Al users to get it. As far as the search functionality is concerned, it will be rolled out gradually starting on July 20 on the web.
The member search feature will be rolled out on Android starting on August 7, whereas gradual rollout on iOS will start on August 28.
Worthy of note is that the feature is available to all Google Workspace customers only. All the best as you explore.
