Another power outage at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) was reported by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) on Friday.
The three-minute power outage at the International Airport approximately a week ago sparked controversy, which FAAN sought to avoid by making the announcement.
The most recent outage, according to FAAN spokesman Obiageli Orah, would only last a few minutes.
The agency said that the power outage was caused by them testing their power equipment to make sure it operates properly on their website.
The message read, “To serve you better, we’re testing our power equipment at Murtala Muhammed International Airport today. This means the power will be off for a short time this afternoon.”
Meanwhile, The previous power outage incident had sparked criticism from travellers, who lamented the inconvenience caused by the sudden blackout.
