Ekiti State Governor Announces Cabinet Dissolution.
Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, has dissolved the State Executive Council with immediate effect, marking a significant reshuffle in the state’s administration. The decision, announced on 10 August 2025, requires all affected Commissioners and Special Advisers to hand over their responsibilities to the Permanent Secretary or the most senior civil servant in their respective Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
The Governor expressed gratitude to the outgoing council members for their service and extended his best wishes for their future endeavours. However, the dissolution does not impact several key positions. The State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, alongside the Commissioners for Health and Human Services, Agriculture and Food Security, Education, Works, and Trade, Investment, Industry and Cooperatives, will remain in their roles. Additionally, the Special Adviser on Special Education and Social Inclusion and the Special Adviser on Lands, Survey, and e-GIS are unaffected.
All Directors General who serve on the State Executive Council, including those from the Office of Transformation and Service Delivery (OTSD), SDGs and Project Monitoring, and the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP), will also retain their positions.
The announcement was formally signed by Prof. Habibat Adubiaro, the Secretary to the State Government, as part of the state’s ongoing efforts to streamline governance and enhance service delivery.
