CDCFIB Announces Temporary Suspension Of Recruitment Portal To Enhance Efficiency.

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has temporarily suspended its recruitment application portal to improve system efficiency, according to a statement released on Thursday, 17 July 2025. The board, which oversees recruitment for the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Federal Fire Service (FFS), and Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), aims to enhance the application process for prospective candidates.

The suspension, effective immediately, will see the portal offline until Monday, 21 July 2025. The CDCFIB stated that this decision was made to address technical issues and streamline the application system, ensuring a smoother experience for applicants. The board had previously announced that the portal, originally scheduled to open on 26 June 2025, would commence operations on 14 July 2025, with a closing date of 4 August 2025. This temporary closure is intended to optimise performance ahead of the resumed application period.

The recruitment exercise, approved by President Bola Tinubu, will see 30,150 personnel recruited across the four paramilitary agencies, with an additional 209 positions available within the CDCFIB Secretariat. The roles span various cadres, including Superintendent, Inspectorate, and Assistant, catering to candidates with qualifications ranging from Senior Secondary School Certificates (SSCE) to Bachelor’s degrees in fields such as medicine, engineering, and law. Applicants are reminded that the process is free, and multiple applications to different agencies will result in automatic disqualification.

To ensure transparency, the CDCFIB has urged candidates to use only the official portal at www.cdcfib.gov.ng and to disregard any unofficial sources or fraudulent portals. The board also warned against job racketeering, advising applicants to report suspicious activities and avoid making payments for recruitment purposes. Official updates can be accessed through the CDCFIB’s verified platforms, including its website and social media channels on X, Facebook, and Instagram (@CDCFIBNG).

Applicants are encouraged to prepare their documents, including educational certificates, National Identification Number (NIN), birth certificates, and passport photographs, in readiness for the portal’s reopening. The CDCFIB reiterated its commitment to a fair and transparent recruitment process, ensuring that all eligible Nigerians have an equal opportunity to serve in these vital paramilitary services.

The board expressed gratitude for the public’s patience and understanding during this period of system upgrades and looks forward to resuming the application process with an improved platform on 21 July 2025.
