Brock Lesnar Banned From Professional Wrestling Amid Legal Troubles

Brock Lesnar Banned From Professional Wrestling Amid Legal Troubles.

Former UFC and WWE heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar has been banned from professional wrestling, according to former UFC star Daniel Cormier. The revelation, made during a recent episode of The MightyCast podcast with Demetrious Johnson, has sent shockwaves through the combat sports and wrestling communities, with Cormier hinting at serious legal issues surrounding the 48-year-old star. While no official confirmation has been issued by WWE or its parent company TKO Group Holdings, the ban is believed to be linked to a 2024 trafficking lawsuit involving former WWE owner Vince McMahon.

Cormier, a former UFC heavyweight champion, spoke candidly about Lesnar’s situation, stating, “Brock is on the banned list right now. He’s in so much trouble.” He declined to elaborate on air, but reports indicate that Lesnar was named in a lawsuit filed by former WWE employee Janel Grant, who alleged sexual misconduct and trafficking by McMahon and other WWE executives. The lawsuit claims McMahon attempted to involve Lesnar in inappropriate conduct during contract negotiations in 2021, leading to Lesnar’s absence from WWE programming since SummerSlam 2023.

Lesnar, a towering figure in both mixed martial arts and professional wrestling, has not competed in WWE for nearly two years, and his absence has fuelled speculation among fans. Known for his dominance in the UFC, where he won the heavyweight title, and in WWE, where he secured multiple championships, Lesnar’s career has been marked by high-profile moments, including a dramatic confrontation with Cormier at UFC 226 in 2018. The anticipated UFC bout between the two never materialised, with Cormier revealing that WWE offered Lesnar a lucrative deal to remain in wrestling.

The ban has raised questions about Lesnar’s future in the industry, with no clear timeline for his return. Sources suggest that any potential comeback would likely depend on the resolution of the ongoing legal proceedings. Neither Lesnar nor his representatives have commented publicly, and WWE has remained silent on the matter, further intensifying speculation.

Despite the controversy, Lesnar’s legacy as a global sports entertainment icon remains undeniable. Fans recently marvelled at his physical condition after photos surfaced of him at a gym, with some likening his appearance to a “real-life Viking.” For now, however, the focus remains on his legal challenges, with the wrestling world awaiting further developments.
