President Bola Tinubu has issued instructions to recall all of Nigeria’s career and non-career ambassadors, as confirmed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar.  This move includes the recall of the Nigerian Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Sarafa Ishola. While the reason for this recall has not been disclosed, Ambassador Tuggar emphasised that ambassadors serve at the president’s discretion and can be sent to or recalled from any country as per the president’s prerogative. Niger’s military regime fired a new verbal broadside at France on Friday, accusing Paris of “blatant interference” by backing the country’s ousted president as protestors rallied near a French base outside the capital Niamey.
