George Akume has commenced duty in Aso villa office as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation after he was sworn-in by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Preceding now, Akume was the Former Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs under former president Muhammadu Buhari from 2019-2023
President Bola Tinubu in a meeting with the Progressives Governors Forum last Friday announced Akume as the SGF and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila as his Chief of Staff.
However, on Wednesday morning, the President administered the Oath of Office on Akume.
Akume, subsequently headed to his office located at the Three Arms Zone in Abuja.
He arrived at exactly 3:30 pm and was ushered in with a performance from a local band.
Akume was received by staff, directors, and permanent secretaries in the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
