Skales, a veteran singer and rapper, is ending 2024 on a high note with his latest collaboration, “In My Cup,” featuring American rapper Ace Hood. This upbeat track showcases Skales’ ability to craft infectious Afropop bangers.

Skales’ journey to creating “In My Cup” began with a chance encounter with Ace Hood in Dubai. “We had rooms next to each other, but didn’t realize until we met at the club,” Skales recalls. “Ace heard my records that night, and we decided to make a song together.”

A pivotal figure in Afropop, Skales has crafted some of the genre’s most iconic hits. His 2020 project, “Healing Process,” marked a significant shift in his career, characterized by self-appreciation, healing, and love.

2024 has been a successful year for Skales, with his song “Jogo” being one of the most widely rotated. Produced by Killertunes, “Jogo” features Skales’ signature flow over skittering percussions and throbbing piano keys.

“In My Cup” urges listeners to cherish life’s blessings and have a good time. Ace Hood complements Skales’ sung-rap flow with a verse about life’s delights at the peak of their careers.

Skales reflects, “It’s all about having a good time and being thankful for the blessings that we have.”
