Accountant-General of the Federation (AGF) Holds Meeting with Service Providers, Urges for Lasting Resolution of IPPIS Glitches

Dr. Oluwatoyin Madein, the Accountant-General of the Federation, has issued a directive to IPPIS service providers, urging them to make diligent efforts in permanently resolving all glitches and challenges present in the payroll platform.

She handed down the charge at a meeting with IPPIS service providers in Abuja.

As part of its strategy to find lasting solutions to the issues and challenges in the operations of the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS), the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF), has initiated engagements with IPPIS service providers and other relevant stakeholders.

The aim is to collaboratively evolve permanent and effective resolutions to improve the functionality and performance of the IPPIS.

Dr. Madein expressed deep concern over the worrisome glitches present in the IPPIS, highlighting the importance of establishing efficiency in the system’s operations. He emphasised the need to justify the significant investment made by the government in the project.

Ensuring the smooth functioning of the payroll system is essential, and resolving these issues promptly is a priority to optimise the benefits of the IPPIS implementation.

Adding that the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation is determined to consolidate on the gains of the IPPIS and will work assiduously to maintain an efficient and trustworthy payroll system for the country.

“The Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF), has taken notice of the challenges in the IPPIS and will do everything possible not only to resolve these, but to forestall future occurrence”, she said.

Dr. Madein, a strong advocate of continuous interaction and collaboration among stakeholders in the IPPIS, has taken a proactive step by forming a technical committee. This committee comprises officers from both the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF), and the IPPIS service providers.

The primary purpose of this committee is to engage in in-depth discussions and deliberations to chart the way forward for the IPPIS. By fostering this partnership and open dialogue, Dr. Madein aims to address the existing challenges effectively and devise strategic plans to enhance the functionality and efficiency of the IPPIS platform.
