The permutations has now started to get unveiled, and this time around, it’s our dear Peoples Democratic Party – PDP, making every move to put it house in order ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The bid to navigate the right moves, the calculations to build itself stronger, and especially from the home front before fronting itself as the party fit to challenge the ruling All Progressive Congress – APC, come 2027.
You should have known by now that God doesn’t lie – a house divided against itself shall not stand.
The context of the above informed the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Board of Trustees, BoT, on Wednesday to affirmed Sunday Ude-Okoye as the party’s National Secretary.
The party’s BoT Chairman, Adolphus Wabara made the decision of the board known publicly on Wednesday at the 80th session in Abuja.
Ude-Okoye won the heart of the board after critiquing documents made available by both aggrieved parties, said Wabara.
Ude-Okoye was PDP’s former National Youth Leader before he was adopted by the party’s South-East Caucus to replace Samuel Anyanwu as National Secretary.
Worthy of note is, there is a court of appeal judgment which affirmed Ude-Okoye as the National Secretary of the party, and was endorsed by the Bala Mohammed’s led PDP governors forum on January 31, 2025, and the National Working Committee has been urged to implement the same.
The PDP Governors Forum also distanced its members from Anyanwu and confirmed Ude-Okoye as the party’s National Secretary during a meeting in Asaba, Delta State.
Despite the party’s stance, Anyanwu insisted on the position, leading to a clash that occurred during a meeting at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja last week.
We only hope the PDP gets to put its house in order at the earliest possible time, and show credible leadership from within itself.
