In a groundbreaking move set to reshape Nigeria’s insurance landscape, leading telecommunications company 9mobile has partnered with PlugInsure and Axa Mansard to introduce an innovative health insurance product called SureCare.

This strategic collaboration aims to revolutionize access to comprehensive and affordable health insurance solutions for Nigerians across the country.

The initiative comes as a response to research conducted by the Enhancing Financial Innovation and Access (EFIna) organization, which highlighted Nigeria’s stagnant insurance penetration at a mere two percent.

The study underscored challenges related to accessibility and awareness as major barriers preventing the widespread adoption of insurance products among consumers, signaling an urgent need for innovative interventions.

Kenechukwu Okonkwo, Director of Products Innovation and Business Development at 9mobile, emphasized the instructive nature of the research, stating that it propelled the partnership with PlugInsure and Axa Mansard to introduce a cost-effective health insurance service.

Okonkwo affirmed that this collaboration aligns with 9mobile’s commitment to pioneering customer-centric solutions, aiming to significantly improve the lives of customers by granting access to quality yet affordable health insurance plans.

SureCare, accessible via the short code *1019#, guarantees unparalleled benefits through a range of tailored insurance plans catering to diverse customer needs. The collaboration emphasizes affordability, ease of access, and comprehensive coverage, aiming to address the varied healthcare needs of 9mobile’s customer base nationwide.

Okonkwo highlighted that SureCare offers pocket-friendly health insurance starting from as little as N100 monthly, ensuring unequivocal health coverage for customers.

The microinsurance health product is specifically designed to provide basic/premium healthcare access to low-income earners, pregnant women, and individuals operating on tight budgets while desiring guaranteed healthcare coverage.

To avail themselves of this service, customers simply need to dial *1019# from a 9mobile line and select the package that best suits their needs.

This collaborative effort underlines 9mobile’s unwavering dedication to not only delivering exceptional telecommunication services but also providing essential and life-enhancing benefits to its valued customers, marking a significant step towards accessible and inclusive healthcare for all Nigerians.
