You can simplify your fashion life by using these hacks to solve wardrobe malfunctions, shopping regret, and mysterious fabric ruins in your closet.

Sometimes it can feel like more fashion or fashion advice is the solution when in reality you only need a shortcut to get through a fashion emergency, save money, save time, and your style.

Here are 8 tricks to solve fashion-gone-wrong moments, and don’t miss how to dress to make yourself look taller if you’re short.

1. Confidence

Be confident in your skin! This is more than a hack, it is a rule. A smile and confidence are the most valuable fashion items. When you are confident, you can wear whatever feels good and pull off any outfit.

You can boost your confidence with these simple tips, physical exercise, excellent body hygiene, and being around people that help you find your confidence.

2. Sit When Trying On New Clothes

Seats in dressing rooms are there for more than resting your bags. They are there so that you can try on clothes while sitting down. This is because clothes feel different when you’re standing versus when you’re sitting. They may be uncomfortable when you’re sitting. So sit down before making a final purchase.

3. Use A Hair Elastic To Fix Tight Or Loose Jeans

If your jeans are too tight, loop the elastic around the button then pull it through the buttonhole. Bring it back around and loop it around the button again. This will give you more room to stretch without having an undone button or sliding zipper. You can hide the makeshift knot under a shirt, or a half-tucked shirt, or a belt.

For loose jeans, loop the elastic around a belt hoop and the button. Pull the button through the buttonhole as you normally do. Or you can put the button through the belt hoop and then button it without using the elastic.

4. Stop Hanging Sweaters

Gravity stretches your sweaters when you leave them hanging which can cause poor shoulders. Always fold them and stack them on top of each other to preserve their structure and fabric.

5. Wash Pants and Sweaters Inside Out

This prevents pilling and fading. Always wash sweaters with cold water and lay them down to dry. Also wash jeans and pants, plus fabric with design or bright colour clothes inside out to prevent fading.

6. Stop Using Fabric Softener on Sports/Exercise Clothes

Fabric softener is known for speeding up the wear of fabrics. The lesser-known fact about softener is that it leaves a film on synthetic fiber which traps sweat and bacteria. This means that your athletic clothes will have a foul smell after you have washed them!

7. Only Match Your Bag or Belt And Shoes

When picking out your outfit, don’t try to match it with your shoes or bag, or belt. Match the accessories independent of the outfit. For example, a black belt with a black bag, a brown bag with brown shoes. It requires less effort and you don’t risk mismatches.

8. Gents, Tuck Your Shirt Into Underwear

It will the shirt tucked in the whole day maintaining a polished look and comfort. Tucking in over underwear means the shirt will keep sliding or bunching up with your movements. Also, tuck the ends of your leggings or skinny pants into your socks before putting on shoes.
