Amaechi Comments On Rivers State Political Dispute.
Former Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi, has claimed that the ongoing disagreement between the suspended Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, is primarily about financial matters.
Amaechi made this statement during an interview with DW on Saturday, expressing his views on the political crisis affecting the state.
He also criticised the emergency ruling on Rivers State by President Bola Tinubu, describing it as unconstitutional.
“The fight between the current governor of Rivers State and the FCT minister is about sharing money. If not, what is the quarrel? Nigerians don’t dislike corruption anymore. I’ve not seen anyone questioning the issue on the streets. Can both of them address the public and clarify the matter?” Amaechi stated.
His comments come amid heightened political tensions in Rivers State, as stakeholders continue to debate the leadership and governance issues affecting the region.
