Victor Boniface Secures Leverkusen Victory Against AC Milan In Champions League Clash..
Bayer Leverkusen continued their perfect start to the Champions League campaign with a 1-0 victory over AC Milan, thanks to a second-half strike from Victor Boniface. The win sees the Bundesliga champions sit comfortably on six points after two games, while Milan remain without a point.
Leverkusen, who opened their campaign with an emphatic 4-0 victory over Feyenoord, dominated possession in the first half at the BayArena but were unable to break down a resilient Milan defence. The Italian side, who were beaten 3-1 by Liverpool in their opening fixture, struggled to create clear chances and found themselves on the back foot for much of the match.
The decisive moment came just six minutes after the break when Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong forced a save from Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan. Boniface, quick to react, pounced on the rebound and fired the ball home to give the German side a deserved lead.
Milan responded well to going behind and pressed for an equaliser, pinning Leverkusen back for significant periods of the second half. However, their efforts were in vain as the home side held firm to secure their second win in as many matches.
