The U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) has announced its commitment to bolstering cybersecurity measures within the financial sectors of Ghana and Nigeria.
This initiative entails facilitating a delegation visit to the United States aimed at acquiring insights into cutting-edge U.S. technologies, financing models, and effective strategies to combat cyber threats prevalent in the banking industry.
Comprising 13 representatives from government and financial sectors, the delegation will embark on a comprehensive itinerary spanning Washington, DC, New York City, and the San Francisco Bay Area.
Their agenda includes engaging with U.S. companies renowned for their cybersecurity solutions and participating in a collaborative public-private roundtable focused on sharing cybersecurity best practices.
USTDA’s engagement extends further with a public business briefing scheduled in Washington, DC, on February 7, and a networking lunch set to take place in San Francisco on February 13.
These events provide a platform for U.S. companies to gain firsthand insights into upcoming business prospects and engage directly with delegates to showcase their cybersecurity services and solutions.
Acknowledging the U.S. private sector’s prowess in cybersecurity and data protection solutions, USTDA underscores the pivotal role of American firms in reinforcing network infrastructure across emerging economies’ financial domains.
With expertise spanning network monitoring, data analytics, vulnerability detection, artificial intelligence, and blockchain applications, U.S. companies are poised to significantly contribute to cybersecurity efforts in Africa.
The reverse trade mission aligns with the Administration’s Digital Transformation with Africa Initiative, aimed at enhancing digital access across the continent.
Additionally, it aligns with USTDA’s Access Africa initiative, which seeks to promote quality digital infrastructure development in Africa, and the Partnership for Global Infrastructure and Investment.
