US Bureau Of Counterterrorism Commends Nigerian Air Force For Efforts Against Terrorism.
The United States Bureau of Counterterrorism has praised the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) for its contributions to the fight against terrorism and counterinsurgency operations in Nigeria.
In a statement released on Wednesday in Abuja, the Deputy Director of Public Relations and Information for the NAF, Group Captain Kabiru Ali, confirmed the commendation.
Jessica Long, the Acting Principal Deputy Coordinator for Counterterrorism, commended the NAF during a high-level meeting in Abuja. She acknowledged the Nigerian military’s recent successes in disrupting terrorist networks and highlighted its adoption of innovative, intelligence-driven tactics. According to Long, these strategies have been instrumental in neutralising insurgent threats and improving security operations.
She further emphasised the importance of international collaboration in tackling evolving security challenges. The discussions at the meeting focused on strengthening security cooperation, enhancing intelligence sharing, and bolstering counterterrorism efforts between the United States and Nigeria.
The Nigerian Air Force reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring national security while prioritising the protection of civilians during military operations. Meanwhile, the US reiterated its support for Nigeria’s counterterrorism initiatives, stressing the importance of advancing precision-driven operations to achieve effective and strategic military outcomes.
