Manchester City Midfielder Rodri Ruled Out Of The Season Following ACL Injury.
Manchester City midfielder Rodri has been ruled out for the remainder of the season after suffering a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). The 28-year-old sustained the injury during Sunday’s 2-2 Premier League draw against Arsenal, following a collision with Thomas Partey.
City manager Pep Guardiola confirmed on Friday that Rodri has undergone knee surgery, which included treatment for both his ACL and meniscus.
“He had surgery this morning – ACL and some meniscus,” Guardiola said. “So, next season he will be here. This season is over [for him].”
Rodri’s absence is a significant blow for Manchester City, as he has been a key player in their midfield. The club will now have to navigate the rest of the campaign without the influential Spaniard as they continue to chase both domestic and European honours.
