Fenerbahce Players’ Disciplinary Verdict Revealed After Trabzonspor Incident
Super Eagles defender Bright Osayi-Samuel has been exonerated of wrongdoing in the aftermath of a confrontation with a Trabzonspor fan (pitch invader) following Fenerbahce’s 3-2 victory away from home as earlier reported by Govima Sports
The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) announced on Monday that Osayi-Samuel, along with two other Fenerbahce players, would face a disciplinary hearing regarding the pitch invasion incident that occurred during a Turkish Super Lig match between Trabzonspor and Fenerbahce on March 17.
The verdict from the disciplinary hearing, revealed on Wednesday, indicated that Trabzonspor received a 6-game ban and a fine of 112,000 TL for on-field events and failure to adhere to guidelines.
Trabzonspor’s coach Egemen Korkmaz and Fenerbahce player Irfan Can Egribat were handed a 1-game ban and a fine of 13,000 TL for their involvement in the altercation.
Bright Osayi-Samuel has been cleared of any wrongdoing, while Jayden Oosterwelde received a 1-game ban and a fine of 52,000 TL for his role in the altercation and actions directed towards the stands.
Additionally, Fenerbahce administrators Kursat Ciftkik and Okan Ozkan faced 15 days of deprivation of rights for their involvement in the altercation.
The disciplinary verdict highlights the consequences faced by those involved in the incident, with Osayi-Samuel escaping any sanctions after the thorough investigation by the TFF disciplinary committee.
