Vinicious’s Brace earned Real Madrid a 2:2 draw against Bayern Munich.
In the first leg of their Champions League semi-final clash, Real Madrid secured a draw against Bayern Munich, thanks to Vinicius Junior’s impressive performance with two goals.
Vinicius capitalized on two mistakes from Bayern defender Kim Min-jae to make an impact. First, he outpaced Kim and slotted a shot past goalkeeper Manuel Neuer for the opening goal. Later, he confidently converted a penalty after Kim fouled Rodrygo in the box.
England captain Harry Kane also made his mark, scoring a penalty against Real Madrid’s goalkeeper Andriy Lunin early in the second half. This came after Lucas Vazquez fouled Jamal Musiala in the box.
Just moments before Kane’s goal, Leroy Sane scored a powerful shot inside the near post, equalizing Vinicius’ opener.
Despite Bayern’s early dominance with six shots and over 60% possession in the first 20 minutes, including chances for Sane and Kane, they found themselves trailing against the run of play.
However, a swift turnaround in the second half saw Bayern regain control of the game. They intensified the pressure on Real Madrid and were unlucky not to extend their lead.
Kim’s critical error, a needless foul on Rodrygo in the 83rd minute, allowed Real Madrid to level the score. As a result, Real Madrid now holds the advantage as they head back to the Bernabeu Stadium for the second leg next Wednesday.
