Proudly affirming the United States’ commitment to gender equity, Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield cited recent initiatives, including the launch of the U.S. Strategy to Respond to the Effects of Climate Change on Women and the U.S. Strategy on Global Girls’ Civic and Political Participation. Additionally, she noted the release of the first-ever U.S. Strategy on Global Women’s Economic Security and updates to the U.S. Strategy and National Action Plan on Women, Peace, and Security.
Within the framework of the United Nations, the United States continues to champion women’s equality, supporting initiatives such as the UN Gender Equality Acceleration Plan and advocating for inclusive language on sexual orientation and gender identity in UN resolutions.
