Troops Neutralise Notorious Bandit Leader In Katsina State Offensive.
Troops of Operation Fasin Yamma (OPFY) have recorded a significant victory in the fight against banditry, successfully neutralising a notorious kingpin known as Malam and four of his gang members in a daring offensive in Katsina State.
The operation, which took place along the Kandamba-Faskari axis, was carried out with precision and determination, as part of the Nigerian Armed Forces’ ongoing efforts to restore peace and security in the North-West region.
Security sources confirmed that the troops engaged the criminals in a fierce gun battle, resulting in the death of Malam—who had long been on the security watchlist for his involvement in numerous violent crimes—and four of his close associates.
Malam was reportedly responsible for a series of deadly attacks, kidnappings, and acts of terror that had plagued communities within Katsina and neighbouring states.
The success of this mission is being hailed as a major boost to ongoing security operations in the region. It underscores the Federal Government’s commitment to tackling insecurity and restoring confidence among citizens.
Residents of the affected communities have expressed relief and gratitude to the security forces, describing the development as a step towards lasting peace.
Authorities have assured the public that mop-up operations will continue in the area, while efforts remain underway to track down other fleeing members of the criminal network.
