In a significant ruling, the Competition and Consumer Protection Tribunal has directed Multichoice Nigeria to offer one month of free subscription to its DStv and GOtv customers.
This decision comes amid a broader dispute over price increases for its subscription packages.
The three-man panel, led by Justice Thomas Okosu, also imposed a ₦150 million fine on Multichoice Nigeria for challenging the tribunal’s jurisdiction. This ruling follows a recent court order preventing Multichoice from raising the prices of its DStv and GOtv services. The decision was delivered on Friday in Abuja, marking a decisive move in consumer protection and regulatory enforcement.
