Transfer Round-Up: Brighton and West Ham Target Hummels, Manchester United Eye Berge and Fofana.

As the summer transfer window heats up, several Premier League clubs are making significant moves to strengthen their squads.

Brighton and West Ham are both targeting former Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels. The 35-year-old World Cup winner is currently a free agent, and Brighton have made initial contact. However, they may face stiff competition from West Ham for his signature .

Manchester United’s search for a midfielder continues, with the club now considering an offer for Burnley’s Norway international Sander Berge. The 26-year-old could fill a vital role at Old Trafford after United shifted their focus away from Paris Saint-Germain’s Uruguayan midfielder Manuel Ugarte . Burnley, however, are reportedly demanding up to £30 million for Berge . Additionally, United have shown late interest in Monaco’s French midfielder Youssouf Fofana, who is close to joining AC Milan . Erik ten Hag has also not ruled out signing Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat, who spent last season on loan at Old Trafford .

Arsenal remain in the race to sign Napoli’s Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen, despite strong interest from Paris Saint-Germain. The 25-year-old is seen as a key addition to bolster Arsenal’s attack .

In other news, Barcelona have reached a verbal agreement with RB Leipzig for Spanish midfielder Dani Olmo. The deal is reportedly worth £47.3 million, plus £6 million in add-ons .

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in Bournemouth forward Dominic Solanke, but any move may depend on the future of Brazilian striker Richarlison. Spurs are reportedly preparing for a substantial offer for Richarlison from the Saudi Pro League .

Meanwhile, Newcastle United are closing in on signing Marc Guehi, and Atletico Madrid have agreed an £81.5 million deal for Manchester City’s Argentinian forward Julian Alvarez . Atletico will fund this move by selling Spanish forward Samu Omorodion to Chelsea .

Fulham have cooled their interest in Manchester United’s Scott McTominay after a £20 million bid was rejected. The Red Devils value the Scottish midfielder at £30 million . Brentford have submitted a £7 million bid for Burnley’s Republic of Ireland defender Dara O’Shea .

Dutch clubs Ajax, Feyenoord, and PSV are all keen on signing Coventry City’s 23-year-old right-back Milan van Ewijk . West Ham are open to offers for English forward Danny Ings .

Aston Villa’s 19-year-old goalkeeper James Wright is in talks to join Spanish third-tier side Real Union on loan this season . Atletico Madrid are also in advanced discussions with Valencia over a deal for 21-year-old midfielder Javi Guerra . Lastly, Chelsea’s English defender Alfie Gilchrist is set to join Sheffield United on a season-long loan .

As the transfer window progresses, these potential moves highlight the strategic efforts of clubs to bolster their squads ahead of the new season.
