Tobi Amusan Named Team Nigeria Flag Bearer For 2024 Paris Olympics.
World record holder in the 100m women’s hurdles, Tobi Amusan, has been named the flagbearer for Team Nigeria at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Amusan becomes the first athlete from Athletics to receive this honour in 20 years, following in the footsteps of Mary Onyali, who was the flag bearer at the Athens 2004 Games.
In another significant appointment, the Nigerian Olympic Committee (NOC) has announced that badminton star Anuoluwapo Opeyori will serve as the General Team Captain for Nigeria in Paris.
Nigeria is set to compete in a diverse array of sports at the summer Olympics, including Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Boxing, Canoeing, Cycling, Football, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Weightlifting, and Wrestling. The games will take place from 26 July to 11 August 2024.
A total of 88 athletes will represent Nigeria across these sports, showcasing the nation’s talent and determination on the global stage.
