In a startling disclosure, Senator Ali Ndume has raised concerns about the emergence of a political cabal within President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
Expressing apprehension over the potential destabilization of the Tinubu Presidency, Senator Ndume is urgently calling for decisive action to dismantle the alleged cartel, which he believes played a role in the recent suspension of Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Betta Edu.
Commending President Tinubu for his prompt action in suspending Minister Edu over alleged financial improprieties within her ministry, Senator Ndume highlighted that the suspended minister did not act in isolation but was part of a larger group forming a political cartel within the corridors of power.
“What President Tinubu has done is very timely. The suspension of the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs is a welcome development. It will allow the relevant agencies to conduct a proper investigation,” Senator Ndume stated emphatically. “However, the president should not stop there. There is an emerging political cartel within the corridors of power, and swift action is required to dismantle it.”
Senator Ndume cautioned that if this political cartel is not addressed promptly, it could pose a significant threat to the stability of President Tinubu’s administration. He urged a thorough investigation into the activities of those involved in the alleged mismanagement of funds designated for humanitarian assistance.
“If they’re not stopped, they’ll be stronger and worse than the cabal. The president must not allow that to happen. I don’t think what the minister did was an isolated case. I don’t think she acted alone,” Senator Ndume warned. “The President needs to delve deep and root out those involved in mismanaging the funds meant for humanitarian assistance. We remain hopeful that the President will take more decisive actions in the future.”
