Nottingham Forest’s head coach, Nuno Espirito, has indicated that Nigerian Super Eagles striker Taiwo Awoniyi may miss two upcoming games, after picking up a knock.
The tall forward has been sidelined for the past two weeks due to a recurring injury and was also absent from the recent international matches against Ghana’s Black Stars and Mali’s Eagles.
Looking ahead to the upcoming Premier League fixture this weekend, Forest’s manager mentioned that Awoniyi is expected to return to action before the season concludes.
“I cannot provide an exact timeline for his return, but I am optimistic that we will see him back in action this season. However, he will definitely be unavailable for these two matches,” he stated in an interview with Nottinghamshireshire Live.
Awoniyi played a crucial role in preventing Forest from facing relegation last season, scoring 10 goals during the campaign.
