Super Falcons Secure 2-0 Victory Over Algeria In Friendly.
Nigeria’s Super Falcons earned a 2-0 victory against the Green Ladies of Algeria in a friendly match held at Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne, on Saturday. The Super Falcons, led by their captain Rasheedat Ajibade, showcased their quality as the nine-time African champions.
Ajibade opened the scoring in the 24th minute, delivering a sublime finish to give Nigeria an early lead. She further extended the advantage just before the halftime whistle, scoring her second in first-half stoppage time. The 24-year-old Ajibade’s brace has brought her tally to six goals in 20 appearances for the Super Falcons, underscoring her leadership and attacking prowess.
Despite creating several opportunities in the second half, Justine Madugu’s squad was unable to add to their lead. The Super Falcons will face Algeria once again in a second friendly at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Lagos, next Tuesday, where they’ll aim to repeat their winning performance.
