Super Eagles advanced to the finals of the AFCON tournament last night where they will face off against the host nation Cote d’Ivoire for the second time in the competition.
The Super Eagles stood firm to overcome a determined South African side. Following their impressive display so far, the Federal Govt has promised to reward the Super Eagles for their commitment and dedication in reaching the Final of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.
This was made known by Vice President Kashim Shettima who was present to watch the game live yesterday in Bouake.
The Vice President after the encounter, told the players and their officials in the dressing room, following their hard-fought victory over South Africa in the semi finals on Wednesday, that the govt and people of Nigeria are proud of their accomplishment and that the Federal Government will definitely reward them for making the nation proud.
The VP was in company with Governors Dapo Abiodun (Ogun) and Duoye Diri (Bayelsa), Minister for Youth, Dr. Jamila Ibrahim as well as Oil mogul Wale Tinubu, FIFA Council Member Amaju Pinnick and NFF President Ibrahim Musa Gusau. (Credit Super Eagles Official X account)
