The Department of State has officially submitted the 2024 Report on Adherence to and Compliance with Arms Control, Nonproliferation, and Disarmament Agreements and Commitments, known as the Compliance Report, to Congress.
The annual report offers in-depth evaluations of both the United States’ and other nations’ adherence to various arms control, disarmament, and nonproliferation agreements and commitments.
Covering a spectrum from nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons to conventional arms, the report serves as a comprehensive overview of global efforts in these critical areas.
U.S. Delegation Headed to 2024 UN/ECOSOC Youth Forum
The annual Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) Youth Forum is set to convene at the UN Headquarters in New York from April 16–18.
Leading the U.S. delegation will be Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield, the United States Representative to the UN. Accompanying her will be Ambassador Lisa Carty, U.S.
Representative to ECOSOC, along with U.S. Special Envoy for Global Youth Issues, Abby Finkenauer, and USAID Youth Coordinator, Sarah Sladen.
This year’s forum will centre on amplifying youth perspectives to bolster the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals.
Thematic sessions will delve into crucial topics such as youth engagement in addressing climate change, enhancing global food security, and navigating the impacts of artificial intelligence.
