Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has charged the Super Eagles to sustain their character and determination that saw them defeat Cameroon 2-0 on Saturday as they progress further in the Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON.
Sanwo-Olu the Lagos State Governor has praised the Super Eagles for their incredible performance against Cameroon.
Nigerian winger Ademola Lookman was in his imperious form after his two goals in either half helped the Super Eagles beat their rivals, Cameroon in the Round of 16 clash.
Governor Sanwo-Olu who expressed delight over the victory which he anchored on teamwork, praised the players for their doggedness against perennial rival and urged them not to relent.
“I totally enjoyed the Super Eagles’ incredible display of teamwork and determination against the team from Cameroon.
“From Osimhen’s hard work to Lookman’s brace to Ekong and Bassey’s very solid performances as well as Nwabali’s solidity, kudos to the entire team.
“Onto the quarterfinals! Let’s carry this momentum forward, Super Eagles. Best of luck in the next round, and may our journey in the AFCON continue to shine bright,” Sanwo-Olu said.
