Sanwo-Olu Ends Remote Work For Lagos State Workers.
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has announced the cancellation of the remote work initiative for public servants, with full resumption at offices set to begin on 1 April 2025.
The decision, confirmed by the Head of Service, Bode Agoro, was communicated in a statement on Tuesday. The directive ends a policy that had been in place since February 2024.
According to Agoro, the move aligns with the implementation of the new minimum wage and other measures aimed at improving the welfare of public servants. He urged all workers to fully rededicate themselves to their responsibilities and ensure improved service delivery across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
“Public servants are implored to fully rededicate themselves to the effective discharge of their duties and ensure improved service delivery,” the statement read.
All Accounting Officers have been instructed to ensure compliance with the directive and give it the necessary publicity within their respective agencies.
The cancellation of remote work marks a significant shift in the state’s workforce policy, raising questions on efficiency and enhanced productivity in public service.
