Portugal captain, Cristiano Ronaldo, on Thursday, broke another international record following his side’s Euro 2024 qualifying 4-0 win over Liechtenstein.
Ronaldo made his 197th appearance for Portugal during the game against Liechtenstein, which puts him outright as the leading appearance maker in men’s international football.
Previously, the Al-Nassr forward had been tied with Bader Al-Mutawa of Kuwait, but the former Manchester United star now holds the record alone.
Ronaldo scored two goals against Liechtenstein, one of which was a trademark free kick.
His brace took his tally to 120 in international football goals, which extended his lead as the top scorer in that regard.
The 38-year-old will hope to repeat his impressive display for Portugal when they take on Luxembourg on Sunday evening in their next game.
