Following a special convention held at the Foursquare Camp in Ajebo, Ogun State, Rev. Sam Aboyeji has been re-elected to lead the Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria for another five-year term, beginning in November of this year.
The announcement was made by Rev. Professor James Nda Jacob, the Chairman of the Electoral (Affirmation) Committee and the Northern Regional Coordinator of the church.
According to the results disclosed, Aboyeji secured a significant mandate, polling 1,931 votes out of the 1,979 total votes cast by delegates. This represents an overwhelming 97.6% support from the delegates, who hailed the electoral process as transparent.
The election, attended by delegates from 178 districts across the nation, adhered to the church’s constitution, which mandates the General Overseer to secure a simple majority of votes cast for the renewal of his mandate at the end of his first tenure.
Expressing gratitude to the delegates for their peaceful participation, Rev. Aboyeji emphasised the importance of cooperation and the active involvement of all church members in fulfilling his responsibilities as the General Overseer.
