Reno Omokri, a former presidential spokesman, has urged Nigerian celebrities to organize free concerts for troops battling insurgents in the northeast.
He highlighted the challenging conditions faced by military personnel, including extreme weather, injuries, and the constant threat of death from terrorists.
Omokri suggested that Nigerian entertainers could perform at secure locations in Borno, offering music, interaction, and morale-boosting activities for the soldiers. He also proposed a collaboration among Nigerian artistes to launch a charity single to raise funds for internally displaced persons (IDPs), particularly orphans.
Omokri emphasized the importance of showing appreciation for the sacrifices made by the military and encouraged the entertainment industry to use their influence for a greater cause. He believes that Nigerian entertainers can make a real difference and that the power of music can raise funds for the less privileged.
