President Bola Tinubu has appointed seven individuals to lead strategic agencies and programs under the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development.
This announcement was made by Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, in a statement released on Tuesday evening.
The statement, titled “President Bola Tinubu Appoints New Heads of Agencies and Programmes under the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development,” emphasized that the appointments are intended to “facilitate the needed relief to Nigerians and ensure the effectiveness of humanitarian and social development programmes.”
The newly appointed heads and their respective positions are as follows:
1. Chief Executive Officer, National Social Investment Programme Agency: Badamasi Lawal, who holds a doctorate in education and has served as a commissioner in Katsina State.
2. Programme Manager, National Social Safety-Net Coordinating Office: Funmilola Olotu, who has a master’s degree in business administration and is currently the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Lagos State on state lotteries.
3. Programme Manager, Grant for Vulnerable Groups: Aishat Alubankudi, who holds a bachelor’s degree in community development and has experience as a risk assessor and financial manager.
4. Programme Manager, Home Grown School Feeding: Aderemi Adebowale, who holds a doctorate and serves as the Special Adviser to the Governor of Lagos State on Civic Engagement. She has also previously served as a local government chairperson.
5. Programme Manager, National Cash Transfer Office: Abdullahi Imam, who holds a bachelor’s degree in accountancy and has experience as a chief accountant at Northern Dairies Ltd and as a bank manager.
6. Executive Secretary, National Commission for People with Disabilities: Ayuba Gufwan, who holds an LLB and is the executive director of the Beautiful Gate Handicapped People Centre in Jos.
7. Director General, National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons: Lami Bello, who holds a master’s degree in public administration and has served as the Secretary-General of ALGON, Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Health, and Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development.
