President Tinubu Appoints Bwala And Others To Key Roles In Government.
President Bola Tinubu has appointed three new directors-general for various federal agencies and a special adviser for public communications and media. This announcement was made on Thursday, with the appointments aimed at strengthening the leadership of key sectors in Nigeria.
The appointments include:
1. Mr. Olawale Olopade – Director-General, National Sports Commission
2. Dr. Abisoye Fagade – Director-General, National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism
3. Dr. Adebowale Adedokun – Director-General, Bureau of Public Procurement
4. Mr. Daniel Bwala – Special Adviser on Public Communications and Media (State House)
A statement by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information & Strategy, highlighted the backgrounds of the appointees.
Mr. Olopade, now leading the National Sports Commission, brings a wealth of experience as a seasoned sports administrator. He previously served as Commissioner for Youth and Sports in Ogun State and chaired the organising committee for the 2024 National Sports Festival.
Dr. Fagade, appointed Director-General of the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism, is a distinguished professional in marketing communications. He is the founder and managing director of Sodium Brand Solutions, contributing to the tourism sector’s potential for growth and development.
Dr. Adedokun steps into the role of Director-General at the Bureau of Public Procurement. Previously, he served as the bureau’s Director of Research, Training, and Strategic Planning, bringing valuable institutional knowledge to his new role.
Meanwhile, Mr. Daniel Bwala, a respected lawyer and public affairs analyst, has been appointed Special Adviser on Public Communications and Media. Bwala previously served as a spokesman for Atiku Abubakar’s presidential campaign, a role in which he earned significant recognition.
President Tinubu has urged the appointees to perform their duties with “dedication, patriotism, and excellence.”
