Nigerian singer Portable sparked controversy on social media after claiming Olamide didn’t make him famous.
During a TikTok live stream, Portable clarified that Olamide helped but wasn’t solely responsible for his fame. “I was already famous before he helped me,” Portable said.
Portable pointed out that Olamide hasn’t supported him since their 2021 collaboration, “Zazu Zeh.” He acknowledged Tunde Ednut and Skepta’s contributions to his career while calling out industry insiders who allegedly blacklisted him.
“Did he ever post me or repost my singles? I helped myself!” Portable emphasized. “Skepta collaborated with me, and Tunde Ednut posted my freestyle, which brought me to the spotlight.”
Social media users reacted, calling Portable ungrateful to Olamide.
