Val Obienyem, Media Adviser to Peter Obi, the Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections, has dismissed reports that the Department of State Services (DSS) arrested Obi at his residence in Anambra State.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Obienyem described the rumours as false and unfounded. He clarified that Obi was not in Anambra State at the time of the alleged incident.
“As of Saturday, Mr. Obi was in Rwanda attending important engagements. He has since returned to Nigeria and is currently in Edo State, where he is actively involved in party and national matters,” Obienyem explained. “There was no DSS operation at his residence, and no arrest was made.”
