Nigerian Officials Absent as FIFA Announces Match Officials for Olympic Games
Nigeria’s absence from international refereeing roles continues as FIFA reveals the list of match officials for the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris.
The Olympic Games are scheduled to take place in Paris from July 26 to August 11, 2024, featuring men’s soccer (July 24-August 9) and women’s soccer (July 25-August 10) tournaments.
The list of selected referees, consisting of 89 officials, has been released. Unfortunately, out of these 89 referees representing 45 nationalities, there is no Nigerian representative.
Among the African representatives are Mauritanian referee Dahane Beida, who officiated the 2023 African Cup of Nations final, as well as Sudanese Mahmood Ismail and Moroccan Bouchra Karboubi.
