Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has expressed confidence in the All Progressives Congress (APC) retaining control of the Sunshine State during the forthcoming November poll.
Governor Aiyedatiwa attributed the assured victory to the massive support base of the ruling party.
Speaking at a primary victory celebration organised by his friends and associates in Akure, the state capital, Governor Aiyedatiwa extended his gratitude to all party members for their role in the successful primary. He acknowledged the significant efforts made by his supporters in spreading the message of his candidacy across all 18 local government areas of the state.
However, Governor Aiyedatiwa emphasised that the primary victory was just the first phase, with more challenges lying ahead in the main battle of the upcoming election.
The event, organised by the ‘Friends of Lucky’, aimed to honour the governor’s victory at the April 20 primary and to appreciate his supporters. Mrs. Bukola Tenabe, the chairman of the organising committee, highlighted the significance of the event in recognising the governor’s achievements and thanking his loyal supporters.
Congratulatory messages poured in from various party leaders and dignitaries present at the event. Chief Atili Adaba, the deputy chairman of the Ondo State APC, praised the governor for his well-deserved victory, while Oluwole Ogunmolasuyi, Majority Leader of the Ondo State House of Assembly, reiterated the House’s commitment to supporting Governor Aiyedatiwa for the progress of the state.
Representatives from the State Executive Council and APC Canada also extended their congratulations to the governor, expressing confidence in his leadership and the party’s prospects in the November election.
Former Speaker of the House of Assembly and Chairman of SUBEB, Victor Olabimtan, echoed sentiments of optimism, assuring that APC would achieve unprecedented success in the upcoming election.
The presence of Oba Ogunlade Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi, Odundun II, the Deji of Akure and Chairman of the Ondo State Council of Obas, added royal endorsement to the event, underscoring the collective support for Governor Aiyedatiwa and the APC ahead of the crucial poll on November 16.
