Oleksandr Usyk Reclaims Undisputed Heavyweight Crown With Stunning Knockout Of Daniel Dubois.

Oleksandr Usyk has once again cemented his legacy as one of boxing’s all-time greats, delivering a devastating fifth-round knockout against Daniel Dubois to reclaim the undisputed world heavyweight championship. The electrifying bout, held on 19 July 2025 at London’s iconic Wembley Stadium, saw Usyk unify the WBA, WBC, WBO, and IBF titles before a crowd of approximately 90,000, marking his third reign as an undisputed champion across two weight classes.

The Ukrainian maestro, aged 38, outclassed the 27-year-old Dubois, showcasing his superior skill, speed, and ring intelligence. From the opening bell, Usyk dictated the pace with his signature southpaw jab, slipping Dubois’ punches and landing precise counters. Despite Dubois’ physical advantages—11 years younger and 26 pounds heavier—the Londoner struggled to find his rhythm against Usyk’s elusive movement. In the fifth round, Usyk unleashed a brutal right hook to send Dubois to the canvas, followed by a thunderous left hook that left the Briton sprawled and unable to beat the count, ending the fight at 1:52.

This victory, Usyk’s second over Dubois following a controversial ninth-round stoppage in 2023, reaffirmed his dominance in the heavyweight division. Having previously defeated Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury twice each, Usyk became the first boxer in the four-belt era to claim undisputed status three times, adding to his 2018 cruiserweight reign. His professional record now stands at an impeccable 24-0, with 15 knockouts.

The atmosphere at Wembley was electric, with fans waving Ukrainian flags and cheering Usyk, who has called the UK his “second home.” Despite Dubois’ home-crowd support, Usyk’s masterful performance earned widespread admiration. Post-fight, he knelt on the canvas in gratitude, later dedicating the win to his team, Jesus Christ, and the people of Ukraine. “Thirty-eight is only the start!” Usyk declared, dismissing concerns about his age. He expressed a desire to rest for two to three months with his family, leaving his next move uncertain but mentioning potential opponents like Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua, Derek Chisora, or Joseph Parker.

Dubois, gracious in defeat, acknowledged Usyk’s brilliance, stating, “I gave everything I had. Take no credit away from that man, I’ll be back.” His recent run of knockout victories over Jarrell Miller, Filip Hrgovic, and Joshua had raised hopes of an upset, but Usyk’s technical prowess proved insurmountable. Promoter Frank Warren hailed Usyk as a “modern-day legend,” while Lennox Lewis, the last British undisputed champion in 1999, noted the Ukrainian’s unmatched skill.

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky congratulated Usyk, celebrating his triumph as a symbol of national pride amid ongoing challenges. The fight, broadcast globally on DAZN pay-per-view, underscored Usyk’s status as a global icon, with posts on X reflecting awe at his “generational” talent. As the boxing world awaits his next move, Usyk’s victory solidifies his claim as the finest heavyweight of the 21st century.
