The timely victory, coinciding with the proprietor’s birthday, has rejuvenated the team’s hopes for championship glory. Over the past seasons, Remo Stars have steadily climbed the ranks in the Nigerian Premier League, finishing third two seasons ago and securing the runner-up position last season.
Their top scorer, Sikiru Alimi, played a pivotal role in Friday’s triumph, opening the scoring with a well-taken penalty in the 28th minute. Alimi, a contender for the league’s top scorer award, extended their lead just three minutes later, showcasing his scoring prowess.
