Rangers International Shifts Focus to NPFL After President Federation Cup Exit
Fidelis Ilechukwu, the coach of Rangers International, has made it clear that winning the 2023/2024 NPFL title is not the primary target for his team this season, as earlier reported by BSNSports.
Following their elimination by Kano Pillars in the President Federation Cup Round of 64, Ilechukwu acknowledged that teams like Enyimba FC and Remo Stars currently hold an advantage in the competition.
Expressing disappointment over their early exit from the President Federation Cup, Ilechukwu stated that the team has now redirected their focus towards the remaining matches of the NPFL season.
In his words: “I have reiterated this on multiple occasions, and perhaps I need to emphasize it again. Our goal for this season is not solely winning the league title. Teams like Enyimba, Remo Stars, and others have a competitive edge.”
He acknowledged the unpredictability of football, noting that early exits can be painful but are part of the game. Despite the disappointment, he extended best wishes to Kano Pillars and urged fans to support the team as they pivot their efforts towards the NPFL campaign.
Rangers International, known for their historic successes, will look to regroup and make a strong push in the NPFL to finish the season on a high note.
