Kwara United goalkeeper Adewale Adeyinka has expressed confidence in the abilities of Amas Obasogie and Kayode Bankole to surpass the record for the most clean sheets in a single season in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
Adeyinka currently holds the record for the most clean sheets by a goalkeeper in a single NPFL season, having achieved 16 clean sheets during the 2020/2021 campaign.
Both Bendel Insurance’s Obasogie and Remo Stars’ Bankole are currently tied with 13 clean sheets each in the ongoing season.
Reflecting on his achievement, Adeyinka mentioned, “It was a great honor to achieve that feat back in the 2020/2021 season. Breaking Suraj Ayeloso’s record was a proud moment for me, and it’s something I’ll always cherish in my career.”
Regarding Obasogie and Bankole, he stated, “They are both talented goalkeepers, and I have tremendous respect for their abilities. Maintaining clean sheets consistently in the NPFL is no easy task, so seeing them perform at such a high level is commendable.”
Commenting on their chances of breaking his record, Adeyinka remarked, “Anything is possible in football. Records are meant to be broken, and if they continue their impressive form, they certainly have a good chance of surpassing the records.
